Pyrognosi – Hellenic Firefighting Institute since 2007 and Marine Training & Safety Consultants (MTSC) since 1986, have been two leading companies in the industry that recently became one. Our combined experience, expertise, and innovation aim in delivering high-quality educational and consulting services in Fire Safety, Fire Protection, Enclosed Space Rescue, Disaster Management (natural and technological), and First Aid.
Our History
Our roots trace back to 1986, when the first private firefighting seminars for the maritime industry were held in Piraeus. Over the years, our programs evolved to include advanced firefighting techniques and specialized training for officers and crews of major shipping companies.
In 1996, the MARINE TRAINING & SAFETY CONSULTANTS LTD (MTSC) was founded, offering Advanced Fire Fighting Course (AFFC) certifications under the flags of Cyprus and Malta. In 1998, MTSC established a state-of-the-art training field in Schimatari, solidifying its leadership in maritime training.
Pyrognosi – Hellenic Firefighting Institute was founded in 2007, specializing in delivering educational and consulting services, customized to the needs of modern business sites, compliant with the respective Hellenic and European Legislations. Specialization and Simulation have been the two competitive advantages since day one!
In 2019, MTSC merged with Pyrognosi uniting the experience and expertise of both companies, providing world-class training and consulting services.

Simulation
During practical training, we use cutting-edge fire simulators to enhance understanding and efficiency, tailored to the trainees’ level, needs, and the nature of the business. Our simulators include:
- Open Surface Fires
- Enclosed Space Fires (FIRE TRUCK)
- Vehicle Fires (FIRE CAR)
Our simulators comply with DIN 14097-2 safety standards and operate on LPG, offering a safe and effective training environment.
Training Facilities
Our advanced training field in Schimatari, just 45 minutes from Athens-Piraeus, hosts practical exercises for various scenarios.
